hareem & omar - nikah and shaadi

when hareem first contacted me about her wedding, we soon realized we had already met each other... at sunday school, where she was my son's new teacher for the year :) and the lucky young man she was engaged to happened to be a friend of my husband's who also volunteers at the same mosque. so it's been, alhamdulillah, such a blessing to see these two, who have given so much of their time and talents to the community, come together and bring two incredible families together as well. hareem and omar, i know it's been a time of both grief and joy for you guys this year, and it was an honor for me to be a part of your wedding, and to learn lessons about faith, patience and love from your families. usman and i - and musa too :) - wish you both all the best in your new life together!here i've shared a selection of photos from the nikah, or vows ceremony, held at hareem's house, and the beautiful shaadi (reception/rukhsathi) at the sheraton tyson's premiere, after which we took some portraits over by the wheel at national harbor. for both events, the decor was done by the incredible sarah khan event styling.
