when i heard gagan was getting married this year… i felt old!! gagan’s oldest sister is my college bff – my sakhi – and he was only 14 when i met him and the rest of their family in the good old days. and here he is now, all grown up and engaged to this glowing, smart young woman. vanu is amazing, and it was a delight to see how happy these two are together. the wedding will be in virginia, where vanu’s family lives, but we met up in gagan’s (and my) hometown of raleigh, nc, to take some engagement photos – we started off at the north carolina museum of art and then moved on to j.c. raulston arboretum on a beautiful summer afternoon. stay tuned for the wedding later this summer! vanu – so happy to meet you :) all my love to the bindras – can’t wait to celebrate with you all!!
farida and fahad had hoped to have a nice snowy engagement session in the winter, before their early-spring wedding; the morning i set out to meet them at a park five minutes from my house, it was snowing when i left the house and raining when i got to the park. bummer! we got a few pictures in the snow but agreed to meet closer to the wedding and just get some nice sunny images instead. so, in a way it worked out… we got both! here are a few images from both engagement sessions… holud and wedding photos to follow :)
neeta and andy and i had planned to do a pretty cherry blossoms shoot down in DC early this spring – but as you might remember, they didn’t quite bloom as expected or planned! but these two managed to rock a sweet shoot on a chilly, wet, cloudy day by the unopened cherry blossoms anyway – and we did manage to find some pink flowers elsewhere in the end!
these two are getting married in just one more week, inshallah! we had a chance to shoot some engagement portraits on a lovely afternoon in D.C. earlier this fall – here’s a few of my favorites. jennifer and abir, can’t wait for the wedding!
