fall family portraits

one of my favorite family sessions from 2013! safiya invited me to her family's house to do some backyard portraits with her little boy, faiz, her husband and her two sisters; i got there with just enough time left in the day to catch the tail end of some pretty magical autumn evening light. even as the sun was sinking, though, faiz's smiles were enough to light up the whole party! here are a few of my favorites from the evening...
