nadiaa & nasir - dc pre-wedding portraits

a week ahead of the cherry blossoms, and on a rainy day in a city clogged with traffic, it seemed like it would be hard to get the photos we wanted on the day of nadiaa and nasir's nikah (islamic wedding vows). nadiaa was so incredibly patient working with me to schedule this session months ahead, knowing my schedule was tight on a school day. but honestly... when you have two beautiful people wanting to share even just an hour of the most important day of their lives with you... nothing can really ruin those photos :) we started with a first look in front of the eisenhower executive office building, where nadiaa used to work when she first interned in DC, and then moved on to the tidal basin, with its silvery reflections of the monument skyline. thanks again, both of you, for the honor of your choosing to work with me, and for fitting me in before your nikah on that blessed friday!
