Post-Pandemic Portraits
I moved to Charlottesville last summer and the fall of 2019 was one of the most gorgeous I’d ever experienced. This town and the surrounding mountains are truly breathtaking in their natural beauty, and I was so excited about my first session of spring portraits!
Alas, but pandemics do put a wrinkle in plans. I caught glimpses of spring on my bimonthly grocery runs - redbuds, dogwoods, crepe myrtles, cherry blossoms, all kinds of color exploding everywhere, and like a small child you don’t see for several months, each glimpse seemed a startling change from the last.
In the summer, I started doing portraits again - they’re certainly easier to resume than weddings. I guess these aren’t really post-pandemic portraits, but they’re safe enough - always outdoors, and I’ll be masked and keep my distance. Charlottesville in the summer and fall offers a wealth of places to pose against, so hit me up if you’re interested! Meanwhile, here are some outdoor family sessions I’ve done in years past:
I don’t specialize in infant photography so indoor baby sessions are rare (but not unheard of!) for me; but outdoors with older babies and toddlers works beautifully when the weather and setting is right:
Of course, couple’s sessions are almost always done outdoors. You’ll see spring, fall, and even warm-winter-day sessions here:
Headshots can be done indoors, but outdoors offers many more creative options - I normally offer headshots as a package for a company onsite, but these days one must be flexible, and I’m happy to arrange one-on-one sessions outdoors if you’re in Charlottesville or the surrounding area.
