South Asian Weddings

Clients often express concerns about their photographer knowing what's important at their traditional or fusion South Asian wedding. And South Asia is a huge region with incredible diversity: I've had the pleasure of photographing Hindu, Sikh, Muslim and Christian South Asian weddings, and I've captured the special rituals and traditions of various Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Indian and Sri Lankan subcultures, as well as weddings that combine these with other cultures.

Packages and Pricing

Packages are customized by starting at the base of six hours on the main wedding day, and then adding on hours, days, additional photographers, albums, and more. Because each client’s needs are unique, packages can range from $2,400 for basic coverage to over $9,000 for a full three-day package with albums and more.  When you contact me, we’ll start working out what’s most important to you!

Experience & Passion

My own four-day shaadi took place across two states and four months in the summer of 2003. It was just one of ten weddings I attended that year - when your girl squad hits that age range, it’s a nonstop party every summer! I was already known for lugging my camera with me everywhere, and you bet I rocked my bulky, padded, black canvas bag at every wedding. So when I shot my first official wedding in February of 2009, I was not only well-acquainted with how desi weddings work - I’d been taking photos of them for a while already.

I’ll admit, my Urdu could use some help! But I’ve got you covered when it comes to your BFF’s “Desi Girl” choreography, your cousins’ shoe-stealing shenanigans, raucous gate ceremonies, and tear-filled rukhsatis. And I know your uncles and aunts traveled halfway across the planet for this: I won’t miss those crucial family portraits on the stage, either. Whether it’s a lengthy, intricate Hindu ceremony, or a quick nikah and speech; an afternoon reception or a six a.m.-to-midnight celebration, I’ll capture the moments you want to remember forever.
